The Space between 'LA' and 'X' probably means that it is not referring to LA Airport but something entirely else.

L in Roman Numerals means the number 50
X means 10

A does not mean anything in Roman numerals

Or does it mean Los Angeles 10 as in Los Angeles '10 (2010)?

What if the Losties go from 1977 to 2010??

In light of the season 6 episode name it might be worth noting that the Hurley image "12-1" translates to letters of the alphabet as "L-A". Don't know though it seems like it is just named that because they already had a "12".
